The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party from the South-West region has pruned down the number of candidates who are vying for the position of the national chairman of the party from the zone. The zonal board, in a document made available to journalists in Abuja on Saturday, recommended three aspirants from the region for the race. It further promised that out of the three recommended aspirants, it was still working to get a consensus candidate among them before the December 9 national convention. The party is expected to use the covention, which has been arranged to hold in Abuja, to elect its national officers. A member of the BoT from the South-West, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, signed the document that reduced the number of the favoured aspirants. The management of Osun state university (UniOsun), Osogbo is increasing tuition fees by as much as 140%, SPEARGISTS has learnt. The vice chancellor of the university, Prof Olabode Popoola, it was gathered has formally informed parents with wards in the university of the development. However since he made the disclosure, tension has been on the rise on the campus of the institution, even as many students seeking admission into the university are said to be already looking elsewhere as a result of what is been tagged "cut throat" new tuition regime the management is introducing. Under the new tuition regime, fresh non science students that used to pay N150,500 will as from 2017/2018 academic session, pay N210,500, while those going for Sciences, Anatomy/Physiology will have to pay N245,500, a over 120% increment from the previous N110,500. Too much money! Couple reportedly gives out new cars as wedding souvenirs

In a surprising bit of news, several sources are reporting that a wealthy Nigerian couple shocked many at their wedding when they reportedly gave out new cars as wedding souvenirs. The couple a Lagos-based interior designer, Ehi Ogbebor and Chief Kenneth Bramor a business man who deals in oil got married on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Benin City, Edo state. Several prominent individuals were guests at the wedding including controversial senator Dino Melaye. The bride Mrs Ehi is also said to be a mother of two. The new cars (two Toyota Camry) were given out as souvenirs to lucky guests after they took part in a raffle draw.
