The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party from the South-West region has pruned down the number of candidates who are vying for the position of the national chairman of the party from the zone. The zonal board, in a document made available to journalists in Abuja on Saturday, recommended three aspirants from the region for the race. It further promised that out of the three recommended aspirants, it was still working to get a consensus candidate among them before the December 9 national convention. In a surprising bit of news, several sources are reporting that a wealthy Nigerian couple shocked many at their wedding when they reportedly gave out new cars as wedding souvenirs. The couple a Lagos-based interior designer, Ehi Ogbebor and Chief Kenneth Bramor a business man who deals in oil got married on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Benin City, Edo state. A 32-year-old woman, Kate Ude, has prayed an FCT High Court, Jabi to dissolve her four-year-old marriage to her husband, Michael Ude, over malfunctioning of his manhood. Part of the petitioner’s prayers before Justice Vera Venda, was to declare that there was no marriage in the first place between them. Kate alleged that Michael’s manhood always has inconsistent erection and that anytime his manhood becomes erect, he ejaculates within few seconds which was not expected of a real man. She also alleged that he did not make known his health status before the consummation of their marriage which took place in Calabar, Cross River, in 2014. Nearly 50 years since a Louisiana man was sentenced to life in prison in the kidnapping and rape of a nurse,  a judge has overturned his conviction. He is expected to walk out of prison Wednesday morning a free man. State District Court Judge Richard Anderson previously said the case against Wilbert Jones, 65, was “weak at best” and that authorities withheld evidence that could have exonerated Jones decades ago. The seedings for the 2018 World Cup finals draw can now be confirmed after Peru booked the 32nd and last place at next summer's tournament in Russia. URGENT! We need a republican state that does not subvert itself by imposing class distinction as a system. For peace and development, the system can no longer afford to continue to confer relevance on the basis of birth, religion and ethnicity for example. We must create a system where what is good for the rich is good for the poor, where no one on the basis of the position he or she occupies deny the generality of the people the benefit of the wealth of the country. We urgently need a system where Justice must be seen to be taking care of the corrupt, murderers, election riggers, traffic offenders and their likes. Nigeria must have a long term template for development, not trial and error. I believe these were the reasons Nigerians elected president Buhari.
